The days of wedding entertainment are ever changing! Wedding guests now expect to see lots of things at the evening reception, so not only do brides and grooms have to pay for their guests supper and the DJ, they also have to splash out on the must have entertainment. This can be anything from sweetie carts (very simple to DIY) to magicians and the very popular photo booths!
Today we, at Paper Themes want to give you a helping hand on the whole do it yourself photo booth!
To be honest it isn’t as hard as you may first think! When you consider photo booth hire ranges from £300 + for a few hours hire on the evening then you can see why couples are opting to DIY!
Backdrops: What better back drop to have than a fully personalised one! Paper Themes offer a range of photo back drops that are perfect for the back drop of your DIY photo booth, they are available in a range of styles, themes and colours and are fully personalised with your name and the date of your wedding!
Props: Go online there are lots of companies who offer props for photo booths, from the simple signs, ‘selfie’ ‘omg’ ‘duck face’ (you get the picture) to the wigs, hats, feather boas and masks! (keep them afterwards and you can recreate the photo booth at any other parties!
Camera: Now is not the time to be worrying about purchasing a top of the range camera, all you need is a good quality one that’s easy to use (particularly useful for when your guests may have had one too many drinks) and can be situated to have the back drop in!
Camera stand: you can pick up a second hand camera stand for quite cheap off various internet sites, EBay to name one, all you need to do at the beginning of the night is position it how it needs to be and you’re ready to go!
Instructions: Leave some simple instructions for your wedding guests (namely how to turn the camera on) and let them snap away!
Don’t forget to take the camera home! After such an awesome day where your guests have gone to extreme lengths to ensure you have some seriously ‘cracking’ DIY photo booth pictures make sure that you don’t forget to take the camera (back drop and props too) home!
You will be guaranteed to have the best laughs when you look through your ‘photo booth’ photos, you’ll have even more fun uploading them and ‘tagging’ your guests on social media!
We’d like to say good luck if you go down the DIY Photo Booth route and enjoy yourself! Why not spend an evening with your bridesmaids getting the props etc. ready!
Happy wedding day! x
