The ever-increasing popularity of smartphones means that the market is constantly bombarded with new mobile apps that can provide help and advice in all kinds of areas. Wedding planning is no different and there is a huge range of mobile apps that can assist in the planning and execution of a wedding – some more useful than others. The 10 mobile wedding apps listed below are our personal favourites.

iWedding Deluxe

iWedding DeluxeThis handy iPhone wedding planner app is a great place to start and especially useful if you will not be seeking the assistance of a professional wedding planner. iWedding Deluxe will help you keep track of where you are at with to do lists, seating plans, notes, business details, offers wedding guides and many other features. The makers state that their aim is to develop iWedding Deluxe into the only wedding app that any bride and groom will need and they have certainly made a solid start.

Once couples have set up an Appy Couple account, they are able to share news and information on their wedding with the friends and family in the lead up to the big day. This can include details of the honeymoon, profiles of the bridal party, polls to help make decisions or maps and directions to the venue. Whilst it is unlikely that all of your guests will want to keep up to speed with your wedding planning, there are always some close friends and family members that will be more than interested.



Most of you have probably already taken a look at the Pinterest website, or are at least aware of it. However, just in case you haven’t, Pinterest is a photo-sharing site that allows users to create and share theme based images collections. Utilising a pinboard display design, the site is great for inspiration and users are able to ‘re-pin’ images that they like so that they are added to their own pinboards.

We suspect that you budget won’t stretch quite as far as having her help you in person, but she has launched her own app called Plan Your Wedding With Mindy Weiss.

Whilst the planning elements don’t really offer anything more than those available in iWedding Deluxe, it does provide an insight into the latest wedding fashions and trends, including what the stars are opting for.


Destination Weddings & Honeymoon

If you are struggling to identify the right place to host your destination wedding, or choosing where to go on your honeymoon, the Destination & Wedding Honeymoon app could be a welcome addition to your collection. The app, which was created by the magazine of the same name, details the most romantic places on the planet and suggests the best resorts. Real-life brides and grooms can also add their own reviews of the locations in which they have hosted their wedding or spent their honeymoon.

Created by, the Wedding Dress Lookbook is ideal for brides struggling to find the right bridal gown. The app enables brides to insert information on their body measurements and any areas that they consider to be weaknesses as well as the style of wedding that they will be hosting. They are then presented with all the wedding dresses that suit their requirements, including crystal clear images. Details of where the dresses can be purchased are also provided.



This app shows brides and bridesmaids how to do their own makeup, which can allow couples to reduce the cost of their wedding by removing the need for a professional makeup artist. Even if the bride decides that they want to have a professional take care of their makeup on the wedding day itself, Carmindy can at least help them choose which styles and techniques best suit them in the lead up to it.

This app provides images of more than 80 different hairstyles that are sure to suit any bride and wedding theme. Individual styles are shown from the front, side and back to give the user a full range of views. Although the app does not include instructions of how to achieve each hairstyle, the images should be enough for whoever is going to be styling the bride’s hair on the day of the wedding.

Wedding Song Planner: Professional

Putting together your wedding day play list can take up a lot of time – unless you have Weddings Song Planner: Professional! This handy app suggests 1,000 songs that are popular at weddings and even provides a link so that you can preview them on YouTube. The user can create a favourites list to which songs can be added and categories can be made for different sections of the wedding, such as first dance and bouquet toss.

Our final suggestion allows the bride and groom to share their gift list with those invited to the wedding. Items can be added to the list via the inbuilt barcode scanner and will be automatically split into categories. Guests can access the gift list by using the couple’s unique ID to log in through the website, where they can also view any notes on each item, such as the desired colour.
